LOVE and NAPALM

print on canvas 70 x 50 cm

150 euro each, shipping included in price

WelcomeToMars, aka Marcello Gungui, gives life to cybernetic female creatures using computer as media.
Their slender bodies are inspired by Manara, Crepax, italian comic-designers that have represented the female body as a temple of sensuality and desire. Inspired by ancient times when women were warriors and amazons, warriors, he venerates them in this way, providing them with biomechanical implants to donate their bodies further expansion and make them more invulnerable. These Goddes of the new ages, named like the ancient Walkyrie have proud looks and sculpted bodies.
The sublime fusion between flesh and metal is represented in the act of drilling a hook. Skin like a membrane becomes stretched, pierced, penetrated by technology, victim of grafts or mutilated, it doesn't represent a border anymore, rather a gate to new sensory perceptions.
In his works he represents the gradual shift from a body made of flesh up to its full automation, through the chrysalis stage, awaiting for a rebirth into the new flesh.

STROKE .04

14 -16/ 10 / 2011

STROKE is a contemporary event for an unconventional and uncompromsing art experience. Whether you have an art historical education, a serious collectors intention, the passion for form and colour or pure curiosity - here you will find enjoyment. For the first time in human

history, the majority of the earth's population is living in urban residential areas. The urban environment and the corresponding lifestyle can be counted amongst the fundamental sources of inspiration for contemporary culture. The historical revolution of visual forms of expression, in which the designs of the everyday streetscape, with its graffiti, tags, tattoos, advertising or graphic design found their sustenance, define the progression of contemporary art. The urban environment as the literal and metaphorical platform for this development both inspires and

presents the artist and their work. Passion and dedication are still more important than business plans and projections. This has naturally led to a young generation that finds it difficult to kowtow to the dynamics and rules of the classic art market. Unbeatable participation costs combined with professional presentation and an uninterrupted passion for the art - this is where we see the starting point for STROKE, the world's first and only Urban Artfair. During the last decade, no other german art-show can compete the STROKE regarding growth and media interest.

The choice of computer graphics allows you to release the bodies from a specific place and time, allowing them to surf the net and to be freely shared.
The release is just the final step of the process to place these creatures out of the Videodrome.
